Hi!  My name is Amy Sandler, and I am the Speech Therapist at Northwood Hills Elementary.  I absolutely LOVE it here at NWHE— everyone is so friendly and close— we are like one big FAMILY.  Most importantly, I truly enjoy getting to work with all of you and your children!

I grew up in Houston and lived there until I went off to college.  I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, and my masters degree at the University of Texas at Dallas—Callier Center.  After I graduated, I moved to Atlanta for a year, and worked at the Atlanta Speech School in the Speech and Hearing Clinic.  Then, I moved back to Dallas, to be with my, now, husband, Jason.  I worked in a private practice for a couple of years, until I made the decision to go into the schools— that’s what brought me to this very special and amazing place!

My wonderful husband, Jason, and I got married on May 3, 2008 in Houston.  Jason is an insurance consultant.  When we are not working, we enjoy spending time with our family and friends, going to movies, fine dining, and cheering on the Dallas Mavericks!  But most of all, we love being with our son, Chase, and watching him grow up.  I can't believe he is already almost 18 months old.  We are having the BEST time with our little guy—he is amazing, and needless to say, we are very PROUD parents!

I am very excited for all that the 2011-2012 school year has in store, and I am so happy to be a part of the Northwood Hills Elementary family! J
