Jo Jackson

3rd Grade

Hey Everyone!

I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful school district! I have spent the last 6 years teaching 2nd grade in the Mississippi Delta. I absolutely love teaching children how to read and write, and I have worked very hard to continue my education so I can be an effective educator in the classroom. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education/Language Arts at University of the Southwest. I received a Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University, and I will graduate in May with a Specialist’s Degree (it’s a Mississippi thing between a Master’s and a Doctorate) in Leadership and Administration from Delta State University! I also recently achieved National Board Certification for Teaching and Learning in Early Childhood Reading and Literacy.

I have two children; Keith will be 28 in May. He is an electrician for Uncle Ben’s Rice/Mars Inc. in Greenville, MS. Kimberly turned 21 this year and is planning to graduate next December from Mississippi State University.  I am thrilled to be back in my home state of Texas and close to my mom and sister!
