My name is Laurie Jones and I am the school nurse. I am beginning my 7^th year at NHE and am so happy to be here. I grew up in Duncanville and then went to Texas A&M (Whoop!) where I earned my degree in elementary education. I taught in Lancaster ISD for three years and then headed back to college to earn another degree, this one in nursing. I worked at Childrens’ Medical Center in general pediatrics and at Baylor Hospital in the operating room before becoming a school nurse. It didn’t take me long to figure out that school nursing is my “true calling”. I so enjoy my job and am fortunate to be able to use both of my degrees in this specialized field of nursing. Outside of work, I enjoy activities with my church, hanging out with family and friends, reading, and working out.
