My name is
Ruth Rybacki. I am the Special Education Behavior Teacher
for 4th through 6th grade here at
Northwood Hills Elementary since 2007. In this position,
I have the pleasure of working with the General Education
Teachers to ensure the success of our students. It is a
great experience being able to work with so many teachers
and students each day. The students assigned to me
usually have a variety of needs and being able to help
these students be successful fills me with a sense of
pride for myself and for them.
I attended
East Texas State University (now Texas A&M in Commerce)
with a scholarship in Music. As I continued my education
there, I realized how much teaching was always a part of
my life. I transferred to Southwest Texas State
University (now Texas State in San Marcos) to complete my
education as a teacher. I received my BS degree in
Elementary Education with minors in Reading and Fine
Arts. Reading is a passion for me and I believe if you
can read you can learn anything!
Before
coming to Northwood Hills, I worked in the Behavior
Program at Highland Park Middle School. I enjoyed the
middle school environment, but realized I could help more
students at the elementary level. Being a Behavior
Teacher has its challenges, which is why I enjoy it so
much.
I also
believe keeping a balance of work and fun in your life is
essential to being a happy person. I have many hobbies
and interests outside of school. I play musical
instruments and have a variety of arts & crafts
interests. Dance is also a big part of my life. Most
every type of dancing is good exercise and way better than
walking on a treadmill! Life is a dance and all you have
to do is move to the music! |
