Future Falcons Storytime     This Thursday, May 5 from 1:30 – 2:30, we will be having Storytime for next year’s Kindergarten students.  If you have enrolled or if you are just thinking about where to attend school for Kindergarten, bring your child.  It will be a fun chance to meet your KN teachers, hear a story, see a puppet show by our Beta Club members, do a craft and meet other children and moms.

Cookie Dough Sales   NHE students are selling cookie dough to help 5th graders go to Sky Ranch Science Camp next October.  This is a school-wide fundraiser, not a PTA one, which we are trying this year.  Many other schools have this fundraiser to help send students to Science Camp.  The purpose is to help lower the price of Sky Ranch for all 5th graders next year.  We appreciate your help.  Many people have told us that they like this cookie dough.  But we do understand that there have been a lot of fundraisers, so please do not feel badly if you choose not to participate.  If you’d like to order, orders are due Monday, May 9.

Teacher Appreciation Week!    This is Teacher Appreciation Week!  I am honored to lead a group of people who individualize for each child’s needs, striving to lift the struggling students and to enrich the highest achievers.  Thank you to our wonderful PTA for the breakfast in our Teacher’s Lounge yesterday morning.  Everything was delicious and the lounge looked beautiful.  The PTA has a lovely week planned!

Talent Show Tryouts!      Talent Show Tryouts for all grades will be on Tuesday, May 17 right after school in the cafeteria.  Dress Rehearsal will be on Tuesday, May 24.  The Talent Show will be on Wednesday, May 25 at 1:30 p.m.

5th grade Science Game Night    5th grade Science Game Night was a huge success on April 21!  Ms. Derrington led a team of teachers from all grades in this fun Science review for 5th graders.  Staff who helped were Ms. Hunzelman, Ms. Young (KN), Ms. Barnes (1st grade), Ms. Kranz (2nd grade), Ms. Thomson (2nd grade), Ms. Lisle (2nd grade), Ms. Perkins (3rd grade), Ms. Massey (3rd grade), Ms. Campbell (Campus Reading Specialist), Ms. Morton (ESL), Ms. Ellis (P.E.), Ms. Salony (6th grade), Ms. Wong (Math Specialist), Ms. Johnson (Instructional Specialist), Ms. Pailes (5th grade), Ms. Cook (5th grade), Ms. Nolan (Librarian), Ms. Hubbard (6th grade) and Ms. Jones (Ms. Hubbard’s sister).

Think Tank volunteers!         There are numerous activities and field trips scheduled for all grade levels during May.  Dates and times of Think Tank classes will change.  So we will not have volunteers in the Think Tank this month.  We cannot thank you enough for your support and help all year!  With you, our Think Tank is one of our crowning glories that sets us apart from other schools.  Please sign up to help next year!

Lost and Found!           Please check the jackets, sweaters, hoodies and coats we have in lost and found?  There are many items that we know belong to your child.  Anything not picked up by the last day of school will be donated to Goodwill.

Field Day is this Friday!
