The Weekly Falcon

Northwood Hills Elementary School

Mackie Kazdoy, principal

Many Thanks to our wonderful PTA Hospitality Committee for the delicious snacks at last week’s faculty meeting!  Afterwards they decorated the Teacher’s Lounge for Halloween!  Fun and spooky!

Congratulations  to everyone who worked on the NHE float for the RHS Homecoming Parade.  We won a $100 Future Eagle Award!

We will be celebrating RED RIBBON WEEK (Oct. 19-23) next week!  In today’s Tuesday envelope you will find a flyer describing all of the activities as we show our strength to say no to drugs!

Reminder!  If a student is out of school more than 3 days in a row, they will need a doctor’s note for the absences to be excused.  Also, students need to stay home until they have had no fever for 24 hours, without medication!  Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy!

Marathon Kids

The Kickoff ceremony is this Saturday, Oct.17, at Loos Field in Addison.  It begins at 10 a.m.  Marathon Kids is a FREE walking/running and nutrition program that promotes an active and healthy lifestyle. Children walk or run 26.2 miles (a marathon) over the course of six months in increments of ¼ to ½ mile at a time.  For more info contact Mrs. Ellis @ 469 593-4280.
