Congratulations to our choir!  What a terrific performance they had December 3! Thank you to Ms. Edwards for leading them so well!

Thanks also to Leslie Douglass (Andrew and Leighton’s mom) and her Hospitality Committee for the delicious faculty lunch last Friday!  The Hospitality Committee outdoes themselves constantly!

NHE has received 5 Gold Performance Awards for our 2009 TAKS test results!  We received Commended Performance Awards in Reading, Mathematics and Science.  We also received Comparable Improvement Awards in Reading and Mathematics.

Megan E.’s art work was selected by the art teachers in RISD to be sent to a state competition for TAEA Youth Art Month.  Only six elementary students and six secondary students from RISD were chosen to go to this next level of competition and only 100 of those winners from all over the state of Texas will be chosen to exhibit their art in our Capitol Building in Austin during the month of March.  Way to go Megan!!

Thank you to Jessica Thorne (Aaron’s mom) and Lynn Stacey (Chase S.’s stepmom) for the generous gift certificates to Jamba Juice, McDonald’s and AMC theaters!  I have drawings for the teachers at our faculty meetings with these gift certificates.  Please consider picking one up for our drawings when you are at a store.    It’s so much fun to win!  Thanks!

Chuck and Lucy’s restaurant has closed.  So please take these dates off your calendars for NHE dinners there.

We will not have tutoring the first week back from Winter Break.  Tutoring resumes on Monday, January 11.

Winter Break will be from December 21 – January 1.  School resumes on Monday, January 4, 2010!
