Friday, September 19, is the deadline to buy a spirit ad in the 2008 – 2009 PTA directory!  A flyer was sent home last week and we have extras in the office.  Questions?  Call or email Cathy Bywaters (Will’s mom) at 214-507-9561 or cebywaters@yahoo.com.

Thank you to Aaron Fitzgerald (Lauren and Cole’s dad) for donating the new NHE yard signs you will soon be able to purchase and place in your yard!  They are good looking and colorful!  We hope to see them pop up all over the neighborhood soon!

Thanks to Marcy Berry (Sammy’s mom) for donating our Tuesday folders!

This semester 4th – 6th classes are scheduled in the Think Tank, our Math/Science lab.  This is a super fun way to volunteer at school. Don’t be scared off because you don’t think you were a strong enough Science or Math student as a child! Contact Samantha Steele (Peyton’s mom) to see when your child’s class is scheduled and come help. You can reach her at 214-498-8702 or trippsteele@yahoo.com.

The Invention Convention is coming up in October!  All entries are due by October 10.  Talk with your child about this fun event.  It’s a great opportunity for students who can see a need and use their creativity and imagination to find an invention that will solve daily problems.

Intermediate REACH students will go to REACH on Fridays this year.  Their bus will pick them up at 7:45 a.m. each Friday morning.  Students are to wait by the picnic table on the west side of school, next to the teachers’ parking lot.

Be thinking and talking with your child about their entry in the Reflections arts awareness program.  The theme this year is “WOW”.  Students will prepare artwork to submit for the categories of literature, music composition, dance choreography, film production, photography, and visual arts. Students’ projects will be judged at the school level and then could go on for a chance to compete at the council, state, and national levels.  Submissions are due by October 17, 2008.  For more information please contact Sunni Goldberg at 972-392-3060.

Our PTA fundraiser this year is the sale of Sally Foster wrapping paper and gifts. Your child brought home a packet with information. These orders are due this Thursday, September 18.
