Auction News!

There are lots of exciting things happening with the auction and we want to make sure you know about them!

1.       Tickets on sale now in the front office. Please go ahead and buy your tickets. The theme of the event is “Vegas Your Way.” That means dress however you dress for Vegas – from dressy to Bermuda shorts with knee socks! Entertainment this year is gaming tables. Each paid ticket gets a certain number of chips to gamble with and you can buy more chips during the night. Prizes to the top chip winners!

2.       About half the money raised comes from Parent Donations. Make your donation now! Ideas: Do you have a vacation home or frequent flier miles you can donate? Go in with 1 or 2 more couples and plan a themed party. Can you get any autographed items? What about a year’s worth of homemade goodies? Do you have a talent to share? Any babysitting teenagers? Products or services from your business?

3.       Principal-for-a-Day Raffle – Spend the day doing Mrs. Kazdoy’s job! Includes lunch with the principal, attending important meetings, making announcements, and you may even get to grant your class extra recess! Buy raffle tickets at the PTA meeting Thursday night and before and after school on the front porch and outside B hall. Tickets are $5 each. Buy a bunch! Drawing will be at the auction. You don’t have to be present to win. 1st drawn wins Principal, 2nd drawn wins Vice Principal.

Calling all Dads, Grandpas, Uncles and other Important Guys!
Come have lunch this Friday, February 26 with your significant kids for our Dads Day Lunch Invasion!

If your child is participating in the Six Flags Read to Succeed program, please remind them that the deadline to return their reading logs is this Friday, February 26.  Any child who reads for a total of 6 hours (360 minutes) will receive a free ticket to Six Flags that can be used this summer. They can read books, magazines, newspapers, comic books -- anything they read outside of school. If they read for their classroom reading log, they can count those minutes. If they read for AR, they can count those minutes.   You will need to sign their log and make sure it gets returned to their teacher by Friday.  If you have any questions, you can contact Ms. Edwards, our librarian.
