Walk to School Day!  Wednesday, October 5 is International Walk to School Day!  Wear NHE green, blue and/or yellow or your NHE t-shirt and walk to school with your neighbors.  "LET'S MOVE!"   Participate with thousands of families all across the nation and walk to school on this day. Be healthy and be fit and help the environment!  BE SEEN and BE SAFE: look before you cross streets!

The Hub of Northwood Hills!  The NHE library was recently ranked 2nd in the Richardson ISD for the number of books checked out per student last year and 3rd for online resources used. Great job NHE students, teachers, and Librarian Mrs. Nolan!!  Many thanks to the PTA for funding the Accelerated Reader (AR) Online System.  AR Online makes every Accelerated Reader test available to NHE students, motivating our kids to read more. Watch the baseball bulletin board across from the Library to see the competition between our students for points as they round the bases!

Encourage your children to keep working--or get started!-- on their Reflections entries!  This is their chance to have fun experimenting with different means of artistic expression (visual arts, music, dance, film/video, photography, literature), and their chance to get recognized for their efforts.  All students who participate will be entered in a drawing for cool prizes:  two movie tickets or a basket filled with art supplies!  They may enter as many categories and as many times as they want.  All entries are due Friday, October 21.  Entry forms and rules may be found on the PTA credenza in the NHE foyer, from their teachers, or on-line at http://www.txpta.org/programs/reflections/.
