Current Events

Picture Day!  Picture Retakes are this Friday.  You may only get retakes if you return the first set of pictures by Friday morning.  If you have started at NHE after we had our first picture day or if you were absent that day you will get your pictures taken, too!

Sky Ranch!  5th graders learned a lot and had a great time at Sky Ranch Science Camp.  Many thanks to the chaperones who gave us 3 days and 2 nights so our students could go: Natalie Yancy (Noelle’s mom), D’Arifah Davis (Neihmiah’s mom), Mai Nguyen (Hailey’s mom), Karen Washington (Cameron’s mom), Ron Spencer (Eli’s dad), Mike Watson (Jacob’s dad), David Scott (Tristan’s dad) and Ruben Flores (Arieanna’s dad).

Invention Convention Winners!  Congratulations to Simon West and Sammy Berry for winning the RISD Rube Goldberg Award at the district convention!  They also were awarded “Exceeds Expectations” for their invention, “Dr. Nutcracker.”

Book Fair!  Our PTA is sponsoring our Book Fair the week of November 14 – 18.  Dads!  We’d love for you to come to lunch on Tuesday, November 15 and then mosey on over with your child to the Book Fair!

Red Ribbon Week!  Thank you to Laura Rhoades (Ethan and Graham’s mom) and her team of volunteers who helped make Red Ribbon Week a big success!

Thank you to Karen Denker (Will and Jon’s mom) for the picture frame, note cards and Kroger gift card for our teacher drawings!

Free Throw Winners!  Congratulations to Free Throw winners: Sam Mendenhall, Yamileth Hernandez, Neihmiah Davis, Jessica Lee, Zachary Dunham and Leah Melmed.  These basketball players will represent NHE when they compete against other children their age at Berkner High School in November.

Multicultural Night!  Our PTA meeting on November 17 at 6:30 p.m. is Multicultural Night!  This is a fun, important opportunity for families to discuss family traditions and culture.  That night, every family will bring food to share from their family’s background and heritage.  It is one of our most fun, educational evenings of the year.  More information will follow soon!
